PatternPal: Health & Food Detective ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by PatternPal.

1. Data Ownership & Storage

PatternPal is an Offline-First application. All health logs, meals, and symptom data you enter are stored locally on your device using an encrypted database. We do not have access to your personal health data, and it is not uploaded to our servers.

2. Permissions We Request

• Camera: Used strictly for scanning food barcodes (via MLKit). Images are processed on-device and are not saved or sent to us.
• Notifications: Used to send you daily reminders to log your meals.
• Internet: Used to fetch food details from OpenFoodFacts, generate AI insights via Google Gemini, and display advertisements.

3. Third-Party Services

While we do not store your data, the app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:

• Google AdMob: We show ads to support the app. AdMob may collect data (like device ID) to show relevant ads.
• Google Gemini AI: When you tap "Analyze," anonymous text summaries of your logs are sent to Google's AI to generate health insights. No personal identifiers (name, email) are sent.
• OpenFoodFacts: Search terms are sent to this public database to find food items.

4. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
